President's Message
Welcome to your new season of IMA programs!
Take a look at this season’s schedule of events and let us know what you think. This year’s education calendar is now set. We always accept suggestions for new speakers and topics to cover at a future program.
I hope you extend an invitation to a guest to attend a program with you. Guests are always welcome. The price is the same and you do not need to be an IMA member to attend. You can provide an e-mail address to the board for any person interested in receiving Kalamazoo IMA chapter emails.
There is an annual pass that costs $140.00 good for all seven educational programs including the two hour Ethics seminar in March 2010. Individual meetings cost $25.00 each.
We have another plant tour on the schedule. This year’s is at WACO Classic Aircraft Corporation at Battle Creek airport in September 2009. February’s 2010 meeting has a small business focus. See schedule for details.
The Chapter will continue to offer CPE programs through monthly meetings. In addition, you can now obtain one free CPE each month via IMA Webinar. We will promote these activities in our newsletters and e-mails. Note there will no longer be an eight CPE seminar in the Spring. There will continue to be an all-day seminar each December for your A & A requirements.
On the regional level, Kalamazoo and Lansing Jackson IMA chapters have collaborated on a project to distribute 200 packets of materials to corporate prospects throughout the region. This will include promotional materials to show the value provided through IMA membership as well as links to IMA chapter websites and the annual MI Council Fall Conference held in East Lansing. Materials will be distributed in September. In addition, we will have copies of packets available for distribution at chapter meeting and other events.
Remember the IMA has a Student Leadership Conference each year, typically held in the Fall, if you know of a student that would have interest in attending.
Best regards,
Mark Woodin
