A company specializing in computer software sought to expand its current location and create 50 net new high-skill jobs. The technical nature of its services, products and proprietary processes presented challenges on how to fund a comprehensive training program for the net new hires.

Solution

CBIZ’s training grants team worked with staff to prepare a training plan. Together, we outlined objectives and strategies to develop the skills of new employees in order to meet targeted productivity and efficiency outcomes. Our team identified a state grant opportunity and incorporated the training plan into an application for grant funding. We completed the application paperwork and also coordinated the reimbursement process.

Outcome

Over a two-year period, the company received a $120,000 training grant to offset the cost of training its 50 net new employees. The funds were accessed through a reimbursement process where CBIZ assisted the company in completing the necessary paperwork that documented the training that occurred and the associated expenses.
